Indications
- They arise from the activity of aciclovir on Herpes simplex viruses types 1 and 2: - Genital herpes: Treatment of primary infection and eventualulterior recurrences. - Herpeslabialis: In most studies realized during recurrences, the use of Urpex dermal creamhasaccelerated healing. The benefit on other parameters ( stopping evolution of the ulcer, duration of the pain) could not be put in evidence with statistically significant manner in all studies.
- Treatment of genital Herpes simplex virus and eventual ulterior recurrences. Because of its mode of action, aciclovir does not eradicate latent viruses. After treatment, the patient will remain exposed to the same frequency of recurrence as before.
